Is Chastity for You?
I get a lot of questions from guys wondering whether or not they should try chastity. Chastity–on a regular basis, or as a lifestyle– is not for everyone, however; I do think all men should at least try it at least once for a day or two before deciding whether it is right for them.
Here are some things to consider before trying caged chastity.
1. Are you married? If so, is your wife on board with you wearing a chastity cage?
Some wives enjoy actively participating in their husband’s Femdom Chastity journey while others do not approve at all of their husband being in chastity. If you are married or are in a serious relationship it is imperative that you discuss your chastity wishes with her.
2. Do you travel a lot?
If you travel a lot you will likely want to invest in a plastic chastity device instead of a metal device. You may decide it just isn’t worth the hassle, no matter what the device, and simply go with a long-term denial program until travel slows down for you.
3. Are you excited at the thought of being put into chastity but not actually about being in chastity?
A good many men are excited at the thought of having to be in a chastity cage but when it comes right down to it, they have no interest in actually being in a chastity device. It is the threat of chastity that is exciting. If you find yourself feeling the same way, then chastity isn’t really the right choice for you.
4. How much time do you have to devote to chastity assignments?
There is so much more to chastity than just slapping a cage on your dick and calling it a day. Chastity requires devotion to completing assigned tasks, such as keeping a journal, regular calls with your Mistress, or any number of other things, depending on the Mistress. These assignments are crucial for chastity success and must be taken seriously by the chastity slave.
Emotional Chastity as an Alternative
There has been a lot of debate about whether emotional chastity can really be considered chastity and I have to say that I believe it can, depending on the individual. It does take a great deal of willpower, and this is the part that depends on the the individual, as most men find it difficult to NOT touch their cock when it gets hard. At least with a cage, stroking attempts are thwarted at the onset.
That said, if a man has the willpower to do it, emotional chastity can be a very powerful thing. If, for some reason, you find yourself unable to actually wear a chastity device, long-term denial without a chastity device may be the way to go.
What it all boils down to is that no chastity or long-term denial program should be entered into without the proper preparation and guidance all throughout the process.

Chastity is a very involved process, both emotionally and physically. Good, thorough communication is key before starting any chastity training process, and these points are very important to consider. I have to say, I certainly admire the immense willpower of any man who can successfully complete a period of emotional chastity!
I agree, Ms. Marlena. It definitely takes serious willpower and a dedication to the program. He also needs to understand that there can be no cheating or the Mistress will know. It is very easy to tell whether a man has cum recently or not, so if they are lying, we will certainly know. 🙂
This was a great post and I agree with every word here. For all the reasons you and I have talked about long-term lockup is not a good idea for me, although it is exciting to put on a chastity device for short periods of time to be teased. That’s something I look forward to trying with you.

You really laid out well the things it is important to think about and discuss before going into any long-term chastity or denial. I loved reading your thoughts. I would add one of my own to Number 4 — how important it is for the mistress to take it seriously. Just as with the person in chastity or denial, the mistress has to be ready to spend the time on the calls, assignments, journals, whatever you work out. It’s an emotional roller coaster and if the mistress isn’t ready or able to be there, the experience can go sour in a hurry. I speak from an experience I had a long time ago; I have been fortunate since to experience you and other mistresses who have made denial a fabulous adventure because you all put in the time and effort. 🙂
