Sissy Fashion: A Look at the 1980s

Big poofy long hair, lots of it. Lace and tulle- lots and lots of lace and tulle. Lace gloves, lacy dresses, lacy stockings- lots and lots of lace and tulle. Big poofy bows lots of them everywhere; on the butt, in the hair, under the breasts- even tied around a stockinged leg! Ribbons tied around poofy ponytails and updos, braided through hair, threaded through lacy blouses and dresses. Ribbons, lace and bows everywhere!

I was watching an 80s music marathon on VH1 the other day and it occurred to me that with the big hair and all the lace, ribbons and bows, garters and fishnets, and Gunnysack at the height of their popularity, 80s fashion was a sissy paradise! Check out a few of thes 80s must-haves:

I would also be remiss in my duties if I didn’t remind you about the music fashion; look at Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, and Anne Wilson, for starters! Of course, you can’t forget Boy George either! Boy George couldn’t have picked a better time to be a sissy, than the 1980s.

The good news (and ultimately the bad news) is that fashion trends tend to cycle, and based on some of the styles I have been seeing lately, I’m guessing the 80s may just be cycling back around! So, my pretty sissy, enjoy!
